Q : What is the purpose of the inner and outer eye subtools, specifically the outer one?

A : The outer eye is the clear glassy part of the eye, used at render time to give the reflection and high specular component.

Q : The genitals are part of the mesh and removing them leaves a hole. I would have preferred the model to be smooth and maybe the genitals as a subtool. I don’t have any need for them in the game. What should I do with this area on my game resolution mesh?

A : My suggestion would be this; Make a copy of the lowest sub d level in (Maya, Max or whatever your modeling program is) and then modify that model to fit your game requirement needs. (Add or remove any topology to suit your needs)Then take this model and wrap deform it to the original sub d level (your original model that was used to make the duplicate from) that came from Zbrush. Now if should have a new model with your changes and it should follow the topology from the Zbrush model. If you make changes in zbrush export that model out and add you can add it as a morph target/blendshape to your model that is controlling your new game resolution model. ( your wrap deformed model) Now use the morph/blendshape slider and both of your models should deform together. Once this is set up it will be very easy for you to make new shapes for your model and then save them out.

Q : Do you plan on releasing more versions of the Human Female model to match the amount of body styles that you have for the male?

A : Yes, this is the plan. They will be added one body type at a time. If you are interested in a particular version (body style) e-mail me at admin@digital3dmodels.com so I can gauge what model should be created first.

I guess you could say the site really went live late Monday night, September 12 when I created this post over at Zbrush Central.

(Click on the image above to visit the ZBC post.)

There has been a nice flow of traffic to the site since the open and there have been a few sales as well! Woot Woot! I really hope everyone is enjoying the free materials.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words and support!
